We all know how important it is to meet people, spending time socialising and being involved with community. For people who have a disability or mental health issue, this can be alienating and a difficult path to navigate. So when Lifespan Disability Services needed some funds to operate a not-for-profit get together to provide this service, all held in a community space, this was something that the volunteer board of Directors felt was a need in our community. The group is run by a speech pathologist from the service, and offers people who may tend to be socially isolated to get together every two weeks.
